Screen and camera flex cables terminate in a small rigid FPC connector board. During desoldering/resoldering of that board, hand pressure alone lets the board shift or lift at the edge mid-reflow, which misaligns pads and causes rework. This clip's jaw is cut to the outline of that connector board, so clamping pressure lands on the rigid section only and the flex tail stays flat and unmarked.
It is a bench fixture, not a device-specific spare part — one clip works across any screen or camera FPC connector board that matches its jaw profile, regardless of phone model or generation.

Asymmetric jaw: the upper jaw is a flat blade, the lower jaw is stepped with a rectangular cutout. This offset lets the clip seat around the connector board's edge and cable exit point simultaneously, rather than pinching straight across the flex — the part of the assembly most likely to crease under flat clamping pressure.
